50 years of craft. One calm team.

New Beginnings is a family-run Twickenham building company. Simon Lockyer runs it with his dad, Mal. With a trusted team of experienced tradesmen, we build extensions, loft conversions and renovations for families who want their home done properly, and want to enjoy the process.

Mal

Mal has spent 50 years in construction, working on houses of every age and type across London and the Home Counties. Today he oversees our team of tradesmen on every project.

That experience shows in the details: foundations set out right, steels in the right place, and finishes that last. When something unexpected turns up in an old house, Mal has usually seen it before.

Simon Lockyer

Simon looks after you. He'll be at the first visit, prepare your quote, plan the programme and keep you updated every week until the work is finished.

His approach is calm, organised and straightforward. You'll know what is happening, when, and what it costs, and you'll always have someone to call.

    We come to your home, listen to what you want and look at the house with you. No charge and no pressure.

  2. A clear, itemised quote

    We price from your drawings line by line, so you can see where every pound goes before you commit.

  3. Plan the build

    A start date, a programme and a single point of contact. We line up trades, materials, building control and party wall matters.

  4. Build, calmly

    Our experienced trades team carry out the work, with Mal overseeing quality. Simon keeps you updated every week, with photos, what's next and any decisions we need from you.

  5. Handover

    We walk through the finished work with you, finish any snags and hand over certificates and guarantees.
